Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we handle at CertifiPro, why, and how you can exercise your rights. It is written to be readable — if anything is unclear, write to us.
1. Who we are
CertifiPro is a platform that lets technical training organizations (OTEC in Chile) and educational institutions design, issue, email and publicly verify course certificates. We are the controller of the data we process to run the site and the service, and a processor for the data institutions upload about their learners.
2. What data we collect
Three groups:
- Contact data. What you give us voluntarily through the contact form or by email: name, institution, email address, phone number (if you provide one) and the content of your message.
- Account data. For people who use an institution's dashboard: name, email address and sign-in details.
- Learner data. What the institution uploads in order to issue certificates: name, identifier (for example, a national ID number), email address, course, dates and result. That data belongs to the institution; we process it on its behalf.
We also keep basic technical records of site and service usage (access logs, for example) for security and troubleshooting.
3. Why we use it
- To answer your questions and arrange product demos.
- To provide the service: issuing certificates, emailing them to each participant and enabling public verification.
- To manage accounts, support and billing.
- To keep the service secure, prevent fraud and diagnose failures.
- To improve the product, based on aggregated information.
We do not use learner data for our own purposes beyond providing the service to the institution that uploaded it.
4. The institution's role
When a training organization uploads learner data, it decides what data is processed and why. CertifiPro acts as its provider and follows its instructions. If you are a learner and want to correct or remove information on your certificate, the most direct route is to contact the institution that issued it; you can also write to us and we will point you the right way.
5. Public certificate verification
Public verification works through a unique code and a QR code on the institution's own domain. The verification page shows only the information needed to confirm that a certificate is valid — typically the participant's name, the course, the dates and the issuing institution. The institution decides which fields are published.
6. We do not sell data
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. We share data only with the providers that let us operate the service (cloud infrastructure and email delivery, for example), under confidentiality obligations and only as far as necessary.
7. Retention
We keep data while the relationship is active and for as long as needed to meet legal obligations or to support verification of certificates already issued. Contact-form messages are kept for a reasonable period to follow up on the enquiry.
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures: encryption in transit, per-institution access control and separation of data between institutions. No system is infallible; if we detect a significant incident we will inform the affected institutions.
9. Your rights
In Chile, Law No. 19.628 on the protection of private life recognises, in general terms, rights of access, rectification, cancellation and objection over your personal data. You can exercise them by writing tocontacto@salaconectada.cl; we will reply with the steps and, where the data belongs to an institution, refer you to it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy we will change the "last updated" date on this page. For substantial changes we will notify institutions with an active account.
11. Language
This English text is provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Spanish version of this policy prevails.
